Today (Wednesday) we have a wonderful Pork Carnitas scramble with roasted peppers, pepper jack, cheddar, salsa and sour cream. Served with a small muffin, fresh fruit, and a warm flour tortilla for $8.50.

Pies are back!

We've got some really gorgeous peach-blackberry pies today! The blackberries are a variety called a Youngberry, and they are from Winter's Farm in Troutdale. Come down and get some!

Breakfast Special

Green and yellow summer squash, fresh tomatoes, pesto, parmesan and chives scrambled into 3 eggs, served with cottage fries, fresh fruit, and toast or a small pastry. $7.50/add sausage- $8.50.

Biscuits and Gravy!

Homemade sausage gravy served over a flaky buttermilk biscuit, 2 scrambled eggs, fresh fruit and a small pastry for $8.50. Come get some- it sells out fast!

Just a note...

Lately we've been getting a lot of questions about gluten-free items. We do not carry anything gluten free, except for our scrambles and potatoes, and have no plans to offer any gluten-free pastries in the future.

If you are looking for gluten-free pastries, I suggest New Cascadia Traditional or Sweetpea Baking here in Portland. They are both great!

Today's Special- Sausage Breakfast Burrito with 3 scrambled eggs, roasted potatoes, sausage, cheddar cheese, and D.A.M. Salsa. $6.50, today only!

Weekend Special

Buttermilk Waffle with Strawberry-Orange and Blueberry-Lemon Compotes. Served with whipped cream and a side of link sausages and fresh fruit. $6.50.

Sweetness will be closed on Monday, July 4th.

Sweetness News

A couple of new things down here:

*New table! Some wonderful customers brought us a new table and some chairs yesterday, which means we can accomodate more folks, which is great news for weekends. Now we just need to pick a color to paint it....

*The same folks who gave us the table also brought down a high chair. That brings our grand total to 2. And I'm trying to scare up a small changing table for the restroom. If anyone has one to get rid of, email me (Kay) at sweetnessbakeryandcafe@gmail.com. Thanks!

*It's going to be a great weekend, weather-wise, so head down to Sweetness for iced coffee and espresso drinks, breakfast, and delicious pastries. We will also have our booth up at the Woodstock Farmer's Market every Sunday from 9am-1pm. Last weekend was really busy so come early for the best selection- there will be mini pies but they sold out in about 30 minutes last Sunday!

Peach-Strawberry Pies! Fresh local Hood strawberries (straight outta Troutdale) are combined with a touch of lemon juice and just enough sugar to bring out the flavors. $3.50, but there is a limited supply so get here fast!
